Women's Tea Gathering

On 11 July, the Women's Affairs Committee hosted a tea gathering in Panda Place, Tsuen Wan, to discuss the topic "The Key to Communication". Over 100 female participants attended. Former movie star and singer Chiang Lai-Ping was the guest speaker. She spoke passionately about her experiences communicating with children and young adults and on the value of a woman's role as a wife. She also entertained guests with a selection of her songs.

The Women's Affairs Committee hosts functions regularly for its members. The events provide an opportunity for them to get to know one another and receive news on the DAB's latest developments.

Competition Law Seminar

Also on 11 July, the Commercial and Industrial Affairs Committee together with Professional Affairs Committee jointly organised a lunch seminar to examine the Competition Law, currently a hot topic in the territory. Guest speaker Linda Lai, Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development (Commerce and Industry), shared her expertise, speaking to over 70 members about the background, purpose and rationale of Competition Law.

This informative seminar was useful not only for legal professionals but also for professionals involved in trade and a wide spectrum of other industries.
